Cort Walker

DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

Cort Walker is the Director of Engineering and Technology at World Tower Company, where he has been an essential part of the team for the past eight years. His primary responsibility involves pre-bid tower design and quoting, and over the years, his role has expanded to include overseeing CNC equipment, managing shop personnel, handling tech issues, recruiting staff, and finalizing design paperwork.

Cort earned his Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Murray State University. Before joining World Tower, he worked at Fisher Investments in an operational role and later helped start Drake Lighting, a tower lighting company, where he gained experience in sales and business development. His decision to join World Tower was driven by his interest in the family business and the opportunity to pursue a more analytical and engineering-focused career.

Cort's role at World Tower has grown significantly, allowing him to gain hands-on experience with complex manufacturing processes. One of his most rewarding projects involved learning how to operate new CNC equipment, which introduced him to the inner workings of the shop and increased his involvement in the company's manufacturing efforts. He enjoys the flexibility and freedom his position offers, as well as the feeling of being integral to every aspect of the business.

Born and raised in Mayfield, KY, Cort values family traditions, such as the annual sporting clay competition he attends with his brother and father. At home, Cort has a wife and a 7-year-old daughter, as well as an older dog named Presley, and two cats, Ahri and Nova.

Outside of work, Cort is an avid disc golfer, playing at least once a week, and he enjoys weightlifting and video games. He also coaches for Better Through the Barbell, a non-profit organization that introduces weightlifting to kids and helps them compete in powerlifting competitions.

Cort draws inspiration from his mother, whose talents and work ethic have been a constant source of motivation for him. Professionally, Cort is focused on seeing World Tower continue to grow and become more efficient. Although he does not have specific personal professional goals at the moment, he has considered working towards earning a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the future.

When it comes to downtime, Cort enjoys a wide range of music, with favorite bands including City and Colour, Kanye West, and Jason Isbell. His favorite book is “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck, and his favorite TV show is “Game of Thrones.” His favorite vacation was a dove hunting trip to Argentina, but he also appreciates the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
